Transition / Implementation Note
Moreganic® did not start as a desk-based certification concept. It began as an industry-led farm programme connected to natural latex supply chains, built from on-farm work in Thailand and developed in parallel with processing and manufacturing realities.
The programme was developed and funded within an operating industrial group. Over several years, farmers were onboarded in Thailand and limited volumes were traded through existing supply chains, with third-party input and early-stage verification support. Retailers also engaged and have offered products under the Moreganic name during this pilot phase.
We are now formalising that operational history into an independent, public standard and an independent certification system. Publishing the Farm Management Standard (FMS) is part of that transition. The Chain of Custody (CoC) standard will follow shortly.
What this means right now
-
The standards are public and can be used for reference, preparation, and alignment.
-
The certification system is being put in place. Third-party certification bodies (CBs) are being engaged and approved.
-
During this transition period, some legacy supply chain partners may already be using 'Moreganic' based on the earlier programme. This is being migrated into the formal certification and licensing framework. See partners for more information
What Moreganic is and what it isn't
Moreganic® is a sustainability certification focused on biodiversity restoration, verified farmer premiums, and supply chain transparency. It is not an organic certification. While this standard requires significant chemical restrictions aligned with ecological integrity principles, it does not confer organic product status. Operations seeking organic product claims must pursue separate certification under USDA NOP, EU Bio, JAS, or equivalent national programmes. The requirements of each scheme apply independently.
The Moreganic® name reflects a commitment to achieve "more": biodiversity enhancement at farm level, transparent economic benefit for smallholder farmers, and traceability from plantation to product.
